Conor McGregor’s last match took place in June 2021. His opponent for the third time in his career was Dustin Poirier, and the match ended with a technical knockout in the first round. Hidden behind the term describing the end of the fight is the fact that doctors stopped the fight after McGregor’s tibia broke in the cage.
This was McGregor’s sixth overall loss and second consecutive loss to Poirier, whom he defeated in the first fight of their trilogy in 2014. He has a total record of 22 wins (19 knockouts) and six losses, three of which occurred in his last four matches, and four in his last seven appearances in the cage.
Despite weaker results in his recent fights, McGregor has remained a popular figure in the UFC. He is a fighter whom audiences are willing to pay to watch, and he has been a participant in the top five highest-paid pay-per-view UFC broadcasts. UFC President Dana White has dubbed him “one of the best business partners we’ve ever had.”
He will fight against Michael Chandler
He will have the opportunity to confirm this at least one more time. He confirmed his return to the UFC cage, and then the opponent he will fight against.
“Michael Chandler. Shut up, Michael, you imbecile. That guy can’t shut up. I watched him on RAW and I like Mike, but I will finish him. Is that clear? I will finish Mike. If I say something, I do it,” he said.
McGregor has repeatedly stated that he plans to fight at UFC event 303. It will take place in Paradise on June 29. Chandler’s MMA record stands at 23 wins and eight losses. In the UFC, he is at 2-3, and in his last fight, he lost to Poirier in November 2022.
