Haas announced last week that Danish driver Kevin Magnussen will leave the team at the end of the season when his contract expires, and now it is known who will replace him. It will be 27-year-old Esteban Ocon, who will also leave Alpine at the end of the season. His teammate at Haas will be 19-year-old Oliver Bearman, who will take the place of Nico Hulkenberg, the Sauber driver for next season.
Ocon has made 146 Formula 1 race starts and has previously driven for Manor, Force India, Renault, and Alpine. He has scored a total of 425 points and has been on the podium three times, one of which was a win in Hungary in 2021.
“I am joining an ambitious team whose spirit, work ethic, and upward trajectory have truly impressed me. Haas has exciting plans and clear goals for the future, so I look forward to working with everyone in Kannapolis, Banbury, and Maranello. I am glad to be part of this great project,” Ocon said.
