The historic race in Misano, the first in the newly formed Women’s World Motorcycle Championship, did not end well for Mia Rusten.
The Norwegian rider was transported to a nearby hospital in Cesena after a crash seven laps before the end of the race at the “Marco Simoncelli” track. She was placed into an induced coma following an emergency medical intervention, reports “The Race” portal.

It was announced that Rusten suffered “polytrauma,” which means multiple serious injuries, and her condition was described as “currently stable.”
Cameras did not capture the crash in the last, 16th turn, which is generally not considered fast.
