The Netherlands and England national football teams will play the second semi-final of the European Championship tonight at 9 PM in Dortmund.
Spain, which defeated France 2-1 last night, is already awaiting either the Netherlands or England in the final.
For the second time in five years, these two European giants meet in a semi-final, with the Netherlands having triumphed 3-1 after extra time in their Nations League clash in 2019.
Considering everything shown so far, it would not be surprising if this long-anticipated encounter goes into extra time again, especially since five of the last eight matches between these teams have ended in a draw.
The Netherlands are playing their first Euro semi-final since 2004, while England is fighting for another final after losing to Italy in penalties on home soil in the last championship.
The Netherlands have displayed better form during the tournament, but England, despite unconvincing performances, is considered a slight favorite.
“For the whole nation, it’s something special. We are a small country, and we are in the semi-finals with England, France, and Spain. We are really proud. We had to struggle, but reaching the semi-final is a big success for us,” said Dutch coach Ronald Koeman.
On the other hand, Gareth Southgate reiterated that his team is under immense pressure.
“Our intention is to play with the ball, but you have opponents who try to stop you. Our team has been under enormous pressure from the beginning, but we have still done well. Currently, we are not able to score many goals, but the last three matches we played against teams with five defenders. We have reached our third semi-final in four attempts, but that is not where we want to end,” Southgate said.
The referee for the match is German Felix Zwayer, and it is expected that the coaches will not make many changes to the lineups from previous matches.

Possible lineups:
