Unlike basketball clubs, which have had much success in European competitions and often been European champions, this is the first title for a Greek club in European football competitions. Olympiacos waited 99 years for this and became the first Greek club with a European trophy.
In contrast, the unfortunate Fiorentina lost the Conference League final for the second time in a row. Last year, they were defeated by West Ham with a goal in the very end.
